Teaching & programmes

The Faculty of Law and Political Science is a multidisciplinary Faculty which brings together the Departments of Law and Political Science. The Jean Constant Criminology School of Liège is attached to it.

The Faculty organises various teaching programmes in the first, second and third cycles for around 800 students.

It offers polyvalent degree programmes which guarantee numerous career or educational outcomes. Its project is to give students the forms of knowledge and to valorise the skills which will be useful throughout a professional life. It takes great care to stress the practical aspect of its teaching programmes.

The joint projects it has established with external partners, on a national and international level, allow it to offer work experience training programmes and study stays in universities in the Flemish Speaking Community of Belgium or abroad which strengthen the quality of the teaching and extend its recognition. All along the teaching programmes it organises the Faculty is determined to develop students' knowledge of languages and invites them to develop personal research.

From the second year of the Bachelors onwards, but above all in the Masters, there are numerous options and this encourages preferences to be expressed.

Besides the Doctorate, Advanced Masters programmes allow students to deepen their knowledge. Belgian and foreign students can thus specialise in key domains: european Law (competition and intellectual property law), tax law, and notary law.

Finally, the Faculty will offer from the 2011-2012 academic year onwards a programme which is unique in the French Speaking Community of Belgium: the Masters in Law-Management, thus allowing students to obtain a degree in management and a law degree in 6 years of study.
