The teaching of criminology such as we know it in Belgium is, in particular at the University of Liège, characterised by a great interdisciplinarity in which a balance is maintained between the various disciplines which nourish it (law, psychology, psychiatry, legal medicine, sociology), criminology of course remaining  a fully fledged discipline in its own right.
