Transition programmes and Equivalences

Students with a Belgian diploma in law (short version - work oriented)

 

On the basis of an agreement made between the various Faculties of Law in the French Speaking Community of Belgium, a student who has a Belgian diploma in law (3 years) awarded by another institution than a university can enter the 2nd year of the University Bachelors degree, by means of a particular programme.

 

The student must file an admissions request with the Admissions department on the basis of the standard form.

Students with another Non university diploma or a 1st or 2nd degree from a Belgian university

 

The student must file an admissions request with the Admissions department on the basis of the standard form in specifying which university degree year they wish to start in.

 

An admission committee decides on the entrance year and the specific program, taking into account the previous studies of the applicant.

Students with a foreign Masters degree or equivalent

 

You already have a foreign Masters degree or its equivalent and want to obtain a Belgian 2nd cycle degree in law with a view to registering with the Belgian Bar.

 

In this case, and depending on the curriculum you have taken abroad, you will be admitted to the 1st or 2nd year in the Masters in Law, with a special programme. Holders of a law degree awarded in France (5 years of study) can be directly admitted to the 2nd Masters year.

 

Admissions requests must be made on the basis of the standard form.

 

You already have a foreign Masters degree or its equivalent and wish to specialise in law or begin a doctorate.
