The Criminology Department, which plays an important role within The Jean Constant Criminology School of Liège, notably consists of two structures, the C.P.E.S. Group (Criminology, Penology, Economy and Sport) and the Restorative Justice, Victimology and Juvenile Delinquency Unit.
Created in 2007, the C.P.E.S. Group is a research, teaching and intervention group which works on the four domains which make up its acronym: Criminology, Penology, Economy and Sport. Its activities as a result concern all the aspects of classical criminology, penology (a science which studies criminal sentencing and policy), economic and financial crime and sport, a more innovative and untypical subject, as it for example deals with violence, doping and corruption.
The Restorative Justice, Victimology and Juvenile Delinquency Unit
Established in 2008, the Restorative Justice, Victimology and Juvenile Delinquency Unit takes responsibility for the teaching of two recent domains within criminology, victimology and restorative justice, and a classical field of criminology, juvenile delinquency. Its research is currently focused above all on restorative justice and the questions which explore its relationship with the area of crime.
