Language learning

Language courses each year

The Department of Political Science, keen that its students possess good language skills, has introduced in its programme language courses from the first year of studies.

In the 1st year students take an English language course. They then each year take two language courses (English-Dutch in the Bachelors, and a choice between English-Dutch-German-Spanish in the Masters). Certain optional courses in Political Science are in addition given in English in the Masters.

Additional language training

It is also possible for students to take language courses organised by the ULg's Institute Supérieur des Langues Vivantes (ISLV) (Higher Institute of Living Languages)..

Work experience programmes and study trips abroad or in the Flemish Speaking Community of Belgium

To further enhance their command of foreign languages, the department also encourages student mobility in the framework of their studies in allowing them to carry out work experience programmes or study trips of one semester or a year in another University, in Belgium or abroad, from the 3rd year of the Bachelors.
