The David-Constant Fund was created within the King Baudouin Foundation in respect for the final wishes of the late Simone David-Constant, Emeritus Professor at the University of Liège, who died on October 15, 2003. The Fund is managed by a committee presided over by Michèle Vanwijck-Alexandre, ordinary Emeritus Professor at the University of Liège, and is also composed of Dominique Allard, Director of the King Baudouin Foundation and Alain Deliège, a notary. Amongst its missions the Fund encourages the promotion of studies and research in the field of Law at Liège.

The Faculty activities supported by the Fund

The support of the David-Constant Fund first of all focuses on the Faculty's annual and bi-annual activities:

• The David-Constant Chair, occupied this year by Professor Michel Grimaldi (2010)
• The David-Constant International Days
  
• Academic study trip research grants to study in other institutions for foreign and Liège researchers.
• The prize-giving of the David Constant Medal for the best student in Law, Political Science and Criminology.
  
• The participation of students in international legal argument competitions.

In addition, thanks to the Fund's selective support, the Faculty has been able to successfully carry out several other projects, notably the cycle of inaugural lessons (2009, 2010 and the 3rd edition on Thursday, March 24, 2011), a cycle of courses and lectures on the subject of international criminal justice, off campus team bonding and discussion days, discussion groups for academic personnel, etc.
