Faculty project at Kinshasa

Kinshasa

The Faculty of Law and Political Science is committing itself to joint projects in Kinshasa.

To kick-off the projects, a delegation made up of nine members of the Faculty, from the two departments, went to Kinshasa in November, 2009.

This first trip enabled the following:

  • Taking steps forward in creating an MBA at the ISC (Institut Supérieur de Commerce), a project initiated by Albert Corhay, the ULg's First Vice-Rector, and Professor Mapapa Mbangala, at which the University decided to involve itself in:

  • Organising a conference on tax decentralisation in the Democratic Republic of Congo, working jointly with UNIKIN, and at the invitation of the Congolese Parliament.

  • Strengthening the links with the Faculty of Law and UNIKIN in organising an academic conference on the alternative methods of settling conflict, and in organising a meeting with Faculty of Law and UNIKIN doctoral students, financed by the Kin05 project.

  • Engaging in promoting the ULg within the political and economic world through encounters with the Minister of Higher Education, the Belgian Ambassador, and the officials of the Congo Business Federation.
